Evan slipped into the common room, fully expecting it to be completely empty. A brief movement from one of the sofas startled him, and he had to quickly juggle his books to keep them from crashing to the ground. Wondering who on earth was mad enough to be up at this hour, he padded over, frowning as he saw one of the fourth years hunched over his books, passed out and dead to the world. Evan set his books down on the table and turned him over, shaking his head in amusement as he recognized who it was. Careful not to wake him, he gently eased him around to lay out more comfortably. As he did so, a magazine- a comic, to be precise- slipped from the boy's lap and to the floor. Curious, Evan bent and retrieved it. Tales From The Crypt, he read. He frowned, trying to place where he'd heard that title before, and grinning a moment later as he remembered this very boy welcoming any who cared to do so to read it. Evan settled in, perfectly content to sit on the floor, and flipped it open.
Several hours later, Regulus awoke to the typical morning common room sounds. He cracked his eyes open only to jerk back in surprise as he found a large pair of brown eyes mere inches from his own. He opened his mouth to speak, but Evan beat him to it. "That was bloody terrifying," he informed him, face pale, and for a moment Regulus had to wonder if he'd stolen the words from his own mouth. "I mean," Evan continued. "Who would want to give a bunch of kids something like this," he waved the comic right in front of Regulus's face, brushing his nose. ""Don't they know it's impossible to sleep after reading this stuff? I'm going to have nightmares now, I hope you know, and I'm going to blame every single one of them on you." A beat pause, then, "D'you have another?"
